Marguerite “Peggy” Lawyer

BAKERSFIELD: Marguerite “Peggy” Lawyer, age 82, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024, with family by her side.

Born on February 28, 1941, in St. Albans, she was the second youngest of nine children born to the late Gordon W. and Marguerite (Paradee) Boomhower.

Peggy is survived by her children, Lance Lawyer and his wife Sharon, and April Geddes and her husband Tim; grandchildren Katie, Tara and her husband Chris, Tyler, Ryan and his wife Alicia, Emily and her husband RJ, and Colby and his partner Lizzy, great-grandchildren, Hunter, NyAsia, Jace, Camden, Keira, Ava, Evelyn, Leo, Josie, and Christopher; many nieces and nephews; and her brother George.

She was predeceased by the love of her life and husband of 60 years, “Teed”, and her daughter Crystal.

Peggy enjoyed many aspects of farm life- working in the garden and canning their harvest, baking bread, bird watching, spending time with “Teed” at the Pond, and spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She was also very proud of returning to school and earning her associate’s degree after retiring from farm life.

We are most grateful for the loving care and dedication that the Brownway Residence and Bayada Hospice staff provided Peggy during her time there. In keeping with Peggy’s wishes, there will be no services. Her family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

Contributions in Peggy’s memory may be made to Grady’s Golden Goodness, 562 Metcalf Pond Rd., East Fairfield, VT 05448.
