Dale F. Carson

GEORGIA: Dale F. Carson died late Monday, January 22, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by family after many years of declining health. His love for his family is what kept him going.

He was born in Endicott, NY on February 21, 1948, to Frank L. and Dorothy (deThestrup) Carson.

Dale worked 15 years as a machinist by trade and then went to work for the State of Vermont at VTRANS for 20 years.

In his younger years, Dale was active in the Georgia Volunteer Fire Department, Georgia School Board, and trustee of Georgia United Methodist Church.

Dale’s hobbies were gardening, sugaring, hunting, fishing, and working the farm. His special love was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Gerry Lee Carson of 55 years; his daughter, Karen Carson of Enosburg, his son Wade (Andrea) Carson of Essex; his sister Diane (Thomas) Gordon of Endicott, NY, and his sister-in-law Ann (James) Rademacher of Pittsford, VT. He is also left by his grandchildren Mikayla Marshia, Lauren Marshia (partner Dylan Hurtubise), Jacob Marshia, Blayke Carson, Paytin Carson, Luciana Carson, and step-grandchildren Ronin and River Ferree, two great-grandchildren Everett and Eleanor Hurtubise; his life-long friend Robert (Maryann) Storm of Arizona; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son Brett Carson (2019), his sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Hoyt Adsit.

A special thank you to Dr. Sanders and the staff at Champlain Valley Hematology Oncology office for their care. Another very special thank you to Bayada Hospice (especially Michele, Bridget, and Courtney) for their exceptional care and compassion and to Dale and his family for enabling him to remain at home.

As for his wishes, there will be no service at this time. A celebration of his life will be in the late spring.
