Paul Bernard Cucinelli

ST. ALBANS: Paul Bernard Cucinelli, a Vermont resident since 1977, passed away on Thursday, March 7th, 2024, at Homestead Senior Living with his family at his side.

Born in Beverly, Massachusetts on May 14th, 1946, he was the son of the late Dante D. and Barbara (Brown) Cucinelli. Paul was 77 years old.

Paul graduated from Beverly High School in Beverly, MA in 1964, and entered the United States Air Force. He then came to Vermont and spent 43 years in law enforcement: 20 years with the Vermont State Police, 13 of which were spent undercover in the Drug Enforcement Unit. After VSP, he spent 23 years in various other law enforcement positions. Paul was a graduate of the Ballymaloe Cookery School in Ireland, a member of Dragon Heart and the Malia Rowing Teams, and participated in Dragon Boat Races. He was also very active in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

Survivors include his daughters, Angela J. Cucinelli-Moser and her husband, James Moser, and Jessica Cucinelli and her husband, Michael Kennedy, as well as a grandson, Joshua Moser. He is also survived by two brothers, David Cucinelli and Scott Cucinelli, and a sister, Joyce Banks.

Paul was predeceased by his father, Dante in 1989, his mother, Barbara in 2004, a brother, Donald “Donnie” Cucinelli, and sister, Ruth “Ruthie” Cucinelli Vaccaro.

Paul’s family will receive family and friends on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024, from 11 am to 1 pm at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. Military honors will take place at a later date at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph.
