Diane Lynn Read
ST. ALBANS: Diane Lynn Read, a lifelong area resident passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the UVM Medical Center with her family at her side.
Born in St. Albans, on April 23, 1948, she was the daughter of the late, Philip Euclid and Jean J. (Duda) Remillard. Diane was 76 years old.
On June 16, 2023, Diane married Jeremy Read, who survives her.
Diane was a 1966 graduate of St. Mary’s High School and went on to graduate from the University of Vermont. She was honored to be Miss Swanton at their festival, Miss Teen Vermont, an at-large contestant for Miss Teen USA, and was awarded Queen at the Eastern States in Springfield, Massachusetts. During her working career, Diane was a buyer for Magram’s Department Store, and well known as hostess at the Old Foundry Restaurant.
Survivors include her husband, Jeremy; stepson, Geoffrey Read, as well as her brother, Philip Remillard and his wife, Theresa, Lynn Moore and her husband, Ellsworth, and Darlene Burke.
Diane is also survived by her nephew and Godson, Tyler Thibault and wife, Jenna, nieces, Lauren Stefanski and husband, Dan, Stacy Burke Schroeder and husband, David, Christy Burke, Jeremy and Theanna Duell, and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Diane was predeceased by her nephew, Christian Hunter Remillard.
At Diane’s request services will be private and at the convenience of her family.
