POLICE SEARCH FOR MAN WHO FLED TWO TRAFFIC STOPS
GEORGIA: Vermont State Police were patrolling the area of Route 7 and I-89 in Georgia on Thursday morning when they attempted to stop a vehicle for what they described as “numerous” motor vehicle violations.
The driver took off south on Interstate 89, leading police on a short chase before it was called off for safety reasons, but police were able to get enough information to determine that the driver was an Essex that the Trooper had pulled over about four months ago.
The pursuit, which began around 10:34 am on Thursday morning, lasted for about five miles, with lights and sirens activated, but the driver would not stop.
That man was identified as 26-year-old Alexander Seagroves of Essex. A press release from Seagroves’ previous arrest in November indicated that he used to reside in St. Albans.
According to Trooper Mattew Conte, law enforcement attempted to stop him a short time later this morning in the City of Winooski. He fled that stop as well and is currently at large.
A public search of Seagroves’ criminal history indicates that he has had numerous bouts with the law in Chittenden, Addison, Washington, and Franklin Counties dating back at least the past seven years.
Seagrove has been charged numerous times in the past 12 months for driving with a criminally suspended license, as well as violating conditions of release and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
Trooper Conte is asking for the public’s help in contacting law enforcement if you know the whereabouts of Seagroves. You can contact Trooper Conte at the St. Albans Barracks by calling (802) 524-5993.
