Candie Dezotelle
Candie Dezotelle, a beloved member of her family and community, passed away on June 21st at the age of 67 after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma.
Candie was the daughter of Norma and Alton Collins.
Candie was known for her exceptional cooking skills and her caring nature. She spent many years cooking in various local venues including the Fairfield Community Center, the Air National Guard, the Bakersfield Village Store, and the Bakersfield Country Club. Her homemade donuts were particularly sought after. Candie enjoyed cooking and baking for those she cared about, often helping them celebrate important milestones and life events with her food. She was a caregiver at heart and spent time babysitting her grandson, nieces, and nephews who all have fond memories of spending time with her during their formative years.
Candie loved angels, animals, and flowers and surrounded herself with many of each. She had many beloved pets and enjoyed working in her flower gardens. Candie’s kind and caring nature left an important mark on those close to her and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community.
Candie is survived by her husband of 47 years, Carlyle Dezotelle, their daughter Diana Marrier and grandson Brenden Marrier. She is also survived by her siblings Steven Collins, Tammy Kennison, and Marguerite Robtoy, along with their partners; and many nieces, nephews, and close family members and friends.
