Carmen P. Mayhew

RICHFORD: Carmen P. Mayhew age, 95 passed away on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024, at Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford, with his family by his side.

Carmen was born on April 13th, 1929, to Israel and Olive (Donna) Mayhew.

Carmen attended Montgomery School. Following school, he entered the United States Army and served our country. He worked for Sweat & Cummings for over 30 years. He enjoyed the little things in life, spending time with family, and gatherings at the holidays. He loved his grandkids. In his later years, he became very particular about his lawn and enjoyed being in the gardens and caring for his blueberry bushes. Carmen was a huge Red Sox fan! Carmen also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking.

Carmen is survived by his children, Sheila Tatro of Richford, and Charles Mayhew and his wife Deborah of Berkshire, six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; and many in-laws.

Carmen was predeceased by his parents, Israel and Olive; his wife Mary Jane; siblings, Harland, Gordon, Delma, and his special friend Elaine.

The family would like to thank Our Lady of the Meadows and Home Health for the care Carmen received during his time there.

Family and friends are invited to Carmen’s life celebration to include a graveside service at All Saints Catholic Cemetery on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 11 am.
