EDEN MAN ACCUSED OF LURING FRANKLIN COUNTY TEENS




A 20-year-old Eden man was charged with sexual exploitation of a child as well as lewd and lascivious conduct with a child on Monday in Franklin County Criminal Court. Both counts are felonies.

Kris Boutin, 20, of Eden allegedly lured two teens into sexual relationships with him by contacting them using social networking sites.

The courier has a policy not to identify the alleged victims in a sex-related crime, or give enough information for the readers to identify the victim.




In this case, the 14-year-old victim resided on the western side of Franklin County.

According to court documents obtained by the County Courier, the report was initially made by the mother of the 14-year-old female victim in the case.

Electronic evidence was obtained in the case, including pictures of Boutin and the teen on the female’s cell phone.

At least one time during the relationship, the alleged victim arrived at her home when the 20-year-old man was lurking in the field near her house. State police would later come to the victim’s house and drive the male back to his home in Eden.

Electronic evidence including nude pictures of both the teen girl and the man were discovered on the teen’s cell phone.




Police also obtained explicit messages between the two that the County Courier has chosen not to publish.

A charge of failing to comply with an abuse prevention order was also issued to Boutin in the case on Monday. According to documents filed relating to that charge, Boutin was stalking the 14-year-old victim at her school on October 7th.

Boutin was released on conditions, including that he does not use any social media.

“I do not agree to that, Mom,” Boutin blurted our in the court room on Monday as turned to his mother for guidance. “That’s how people communicate these days. It’s 2016! They might as well just kill me.”

Boutin later agreed to that condition and others including that he does not have any contact with the victim in the case.
