SWANTON MAN WASTED BEHIND THE WHEEL
MIDDLESEX: State Police say they have arrested a Swanton Man who was so intoxicated that his BAC indicated that he was almost four times the legal limit for driving in Vermont.
According to Trooper Brandon Degre, troopers first noticed Richard E. Dewey, 56 of Swanton sitting in his car in the breakdown lane of Interstate 89 in Middlesex around 6pm on November 26th.
Police did not say why Dewey was parked in the breakdown lane, but a breath test later would reveal that Dewey’s BAC was 0.293%, that’s almost four times the legal limit of 0.08% for driving in Vermont.
Dewey is due in court in Washington County on December 15th to answer to the charge of DUI.
