A minor motor vehicle crash Friday morning was yet another example of the dangers that aggressive driving possesses, according to police.
Trooper Andrew Leise said he was conducting a motor vehicle stop this morning in this stretch of the interstate when a crash occurred about a half a mile behind him.
According to Leise, Jesse D. Feiner, 22, of Fairfield was traveling too closely to the vehicle in front of him, driven by Emily F. Ely, 28, of Winooski when the crash occurred.
“(The) investigation revealed that (Feiner) was traveling at 65 in a posted 55 zone per his admission and rear ended (Ely’s) vehicle,” said Trooper Leise.
Although no injuries were reported, police did issue Feiner a $220 ticket and three points on his license.
Troopers continue to remind motorists to drive safely and refrain from aggressive driving to include speeding, quick lane changes, and tailgating. To date, there have been 16 traffic crash-related fatalities on VT Roads which officers statewide are attempting to reduce.
State Police say they are called to that area around 800 times annually to assist motorists, including crashes and other calls for help.
