COMMERCIAL TRUCK CRASH HALTS RT 78 TRAFFIC
EAST HIGHGATE: Vermont State Police say a section of Route 78 will be closed for the removal of a tractor-trailer truck that crashed near the intersection of the Machia Road intersection earlier today.
A reader of the County Courier let us know that the crash is between Lamkin and Machia Roads, leaving the intersection of Machia and Route 78 open to traffic.
The road closure will take place as soon as heavy equipment arrives on the scene to remove the truck, according to a Vermont State Police dispatcher.
In the time being, the roadway has been reduced to one lane, slowing traffic in the area.
Rescue crews were called to a tractor-trailer rollover around 12:26 pm today. There were no reports on injuries.
State Police are asking commuters to seek alternate routes if they are traveling in the area.
The County Courier will have more information as necessary when it becomes available.
