Beverley Jesse LaFlamme Dudley

NEWTOWN, CT: Beverley Jesse LaFlamme Dudley of Newtown, Connecticut passed away peacefully, at the age of 93, on January 14, 2020, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Enosburg Falls, Vermont to the late Edward & Jesse (Lumbra) LaFlamme.

Beverley moved to Connecticut with her husband Raymond to continue their life of farming. She had six children. While being a farmer’s wife and raising her children, she became a Licensed Practical Nurse and began nursing in homes. During her career in nursing, she had the privilege of taking care of many celebrities including Helen Keller. She received a letter from the American Foundation for the Blind thanking her for her devotion and attention to detail in taking care of Hellen Keller. Her kindness and patience shone through with the most difficult and tough cases in her career as a nurse.

She is survived by her children, Larry and his wife Linda of Newtown, CT, Wendell of Mobile, AL, Samuel and his wife Jean of Gloucester, VA, Barbara Riebe and her husband Michael of Sandy Hook, CT. She has 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; son, James; daughter, Susan; and siblings, Roger, James, Betty, and Edward.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2020, at 1:00 PM at East Franklin Cemetery, 4610 Lake Road, Franklin, VT.
