22 NEW CASES REPORTED AT ST. ALBANS HEALTH AND REHAB
ST. ALBANS: The COVID-19 outbreak at St. Albans Health and Rehab has continued to spread, with the state reporting 22 new cases there in the past week- that brings the total number of patients and employees associated with that facility up to 36.
The increase is the second highest of all the eight long-term care facilities in the state that currently battles the virus. Elderwood in Burlington is the only facility facing a faster spread through it’s facility with 66 new cases, for a total of 91 since the virus was discovered within the elderly care home.
Rutland Health and Rehab reported another nine cases, for a total of 63. The Four Seasons Care Home in Northfield is reporting two new cases, 41 total.
Berlin Health and Rehab is reporting 16 new cases, for a total of 29. The Residence at Quarry Hill in South Burlington is reporting a total of 10 cases, an increase of two since last week.
Averill Place in Barre and Valley Vista are each reporting that they have not found any new cases in a week. Averill Place has had a total of five cases, while Valley Vista has reported eight.
The numbers come as the state is seeing about a 54% increase in cases on a seven day average, bucking the 74% increase that the region is seeing, but almost twice what the national average is.
