Bonnie H. Goodhue
ENOSBURG FALLS– Bonnie H. Goodhue, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, after an extended period of declining health.
She was born in Palmer, TN on August 12, 1935 to the late Gilbert and Barbara (Scott) Overturf. She spent her first 25 years in the Chattanooga area, where she worked at various jobs.
In 1961, Bonnie moved to Enosburg Falls, working first at Carney’s restaurant and then at the Ben Franklin store.
Moving back to Chattanooga area in the eighties she found work as a bookkeeper at Richmond Carpet Mill, followed by a landscaping company and at Dillard’s Department Store.
After retiring, in 2005, Bonnie moved back to Enosburg Falls. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #42, the Order of Eastern Star- Martha Washington Chapter, the Enosburg Falls United Methodist Church, and the Enosburgh Historical Society. She enjoyed playing cards and reading.
Bonnie is survived by her daughters, Gay Haley of Enosburgh, and Teresa Cantu and her partner Harold Wilkerson of Springhill, FL; son, Scott Goodhue and his wife Brenda (Wright) of Fairfield; step-son, Chris Goodhue and his wife Mary Beth Sievens of Fredonia, NY; step-daughter, Barbara (Haley) Bruce of Debary, FL; grandchildren, Seth and his wife Jenny, Austin, Cole, Erica, Damian, and Joshua; nieces, Vicki (Patton) and her husband David Talley, Sonya Patton, Pat (Blaisdell) Ross; and several great nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Bonnie was predeceased by her ex-husbands, Harold Poore, John H. Haley Jr., and Russell Goodhue; a grandson, Ethan Russel Goodhue; her sisters, Elnora Overturf, and Alma Viola Patton; nephews, Ernest Ross; nieces Wanda Sweatt; great nephews, Doug Sweatt; step-son, Stephen Goodhue; and stepdaughter, Jeanette and her husband EV Byrd.
In keeping with Bonnie’s wishes there will be no services. Her ashes will be spread in Tennessee at a later date.
