NMC TO OFFER COVID VACCINE APPOINTMENTS ON NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS
Northwestern Medical Center (NMC) is adding new evening hours to its COVID-19 vaccination clinic, which will include appointments on weekends and evenings.
“We need to keep pace with demand and make vaccination as convenient as possible,” said Denise Smith, NMC’s Vaccine Clinic Manager. “Now that everyone 16 years old and older can register for an appointment, expanding into the evening and weekends will really help those who are working or in school get their vaccination.”
The first of the evening clinics are scheduled on Thursday, April 29, and Tuesday, May 4, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. An additional Saturday clinic has been scheduled for May 1st, with appointments available from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. More than half of Franklin County residents over the age of 16 have already received their first dose of the vaccine. “By expanding our offerings, we are making it possible to reach the goal of full vaccination for everyone faster,” said Smith. “That will help make for a much healthier and safer summer with our friends and families.”
NMC’s vaccine clinic is located in the new building on the corner of Congress & Main streets in St. Albans that now houses the Community College of Vermont and Vermont Technical College. It is one of several vaccine locations throughout the county. “We are very fortunate to have strong collaboration in the effort to vaccinate all of Franklin County,” said Smith. “We are thankful for the efforts of VDH, NOTCH, Collins Perley, Franklin County Home Health, AmCare, the National Guard, local pharmacies, the Medical Reserve Core Volunteers, and more! This has truly been a community effort to keep our community safe and healthy.”
