POLICE NEED HELP FINDING A MISSING WOMAN IN BAKERSFIELD
Vermont State Police are looking for 72 year old Avis Anderson of Bakersfield, who went missing this afternoon.
According to Trooper Sgt. John Bruzzi, Anderson wandered away from her home at 1202 Witchcat Road in Bakersfield around 4:30 on Sunday afternoon.
The elderly woman suffers from dementia, and wandered off around this time last year, according to police. She was found in a swampy area of the woods last time she went missing.
Anderson is known to many in and around the area as she used to own and operate the Somerset Inn in Enosburg Falls.
Anderson is described as approximately 5’6″ tall with white shoulder-length hair and weighing just over 100 lbs. She was last seen wearing black slacks, a dark green top, and black sneakers.
The Trooper said people in the area should be vigilant, and check any outbuildings, abandoned vehicles, and any other places someone might seek shelter for her whereabouts.
Officials are utilizing K-9 searches in the area and anyone that receives any information on Anderson’s whereabouts is asked to call the Saint Albans State Police barracks at (802) 524-5993.
