Steven G. King
SHELDON – Steven G. King, age 55, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at the UVM Medical Center in Burlington.
He was born in St. Albans on October 15, 1965 to John and Martha (Roberts) King.
Steve grew up on King Road, attended Berkshire elementary school and graduated from Richford High School in 1983. In his younger years he enjoyed working on his uncle’s farm, helping out at his grandfather’s automotive shop, King’s Garage, and even built his own car from the ground up. In 1986, he started working for Barry Callebaut where he spent close to 32 years. When Steve wasn’t working, you could find him behind the wheel of a 4×4, snowmobile, four-wheeler, or his latest pride and joy, his 2000 Pontiac Trans Am Firebird pushing it to its limits. He loved to take back roads, old trails, carve his own new trails, and take incredible nature photos along the way. A true jack of all trades, Steve helped countless family and friends with projects. He was at times strong willed, but the first one you called if you were in need, he was always there and an excellent problem solver. Steve’s children and grandchildren were the center of his life, he was more than just a Papa to them, he was their best friend.
He is survived by his cherished children, Joshua King and his fiancé Breanne Machia, and Jessica (King) Blair and her husband Mitchell; grandchildren, Kaidon, Zander, Waylon, Konnor, and Keira; his parents, John & Martha King; brothers, Scott King, and Stuart King and his wife Sharon; nieces, Crystal, and Katie King; several great nieces and nephews; and the mother of his children, Darlene Barton.
Steve was predeceased by his twin daughters, Heather Anne and Brittany Marie King in 1987; and grandparents, Harrison & Madelyn King, and George & Marjorie Roberts.
Family and Friends are invited to Steve’s Life Celebration events to include visitation on his birthday, Friday, October 15, 2021 from 12:00 PM-1:00 PM with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT 05450.
