Carol Ann Hastings Lundy

WEATHERFORD, TX: Carol Ann Hastings Lundy crossed the bar and entered the loving embrace of Jesus Christ on March 4, 2022, at age 85.

Carol was born on May 11, 1936, in Somerville, NJ, to Hollis Hastings and Iva Fultz Hastings. She lived in Richford, Vermont until she graduated from college, married, and moved to the west coast.

Carol persevered against life-threatening illness as a child and exhibited that strength of will until her death. She was proud of her lifelong career as a teacher and wrote groundbreaking curriculum for early childhood education. It is still valued and taught at preschools in several parts of the world.

Creating art was Carol’s second vocation, including large colorful paintings. She was active in several political campaigns, enjoyed world travel, and was an award-winning flower and vegetable gardener.

Carol was a Charter Member of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. She attended the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Decatur, TX. Carol cherished time with her children and grandchildren.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lundy, and sister, Cristel. She is survived by daughters, Jill McClendon (Phil) of Peaster, TX, Julie Lundy-Booker (Phillip) of Weatherford, TX, Mary Ann Carter (Christopher) of Kensington, MD, son, Paul Lundy (Chisa) of Tokyo, Japan; and beloved grandchildren Catherine, Joshua, Zachary, Matthew, Timothy, Yukino, and Sara.

Visitation is 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.

The Funeral is 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, followed by interment at Peaster Cemetery.

In remembrance, flowers are welcome, or you may donate in her name, to charity.

Pallbearers are Paul Lundy, Joshua Peterson, Zachary Peterson, Phillip Booker, Christopher Carter, Matthew Carter, and Timothy Carter. Honorary pallbearer is Phil McClendon.
