David William Sweetser Sr.
ST. ALBANS: David William Sweetser Sr., age 74, passed away peacefully, on January 09, 2023. He was born in Colchester, on May 20, 1948, to Harold and Cecile Blanche (Longley) Sweetser.
David was employed for three years at Leader Evaporator, then he worked for the Shelburne Box Container, the Creamery in Milton, and for many years at the City of St. Albans Public Works Department. He finally worked in cleaning for Interstate Maintenance, retiring in 2003.
David enjoyed body work on vehicles, fishing and hunting, and loved his animals. He will be remembered by many as the faithful person to open up the AA meetings. What brought David the most joy was playing guitar whether at public events or for his family.
He is survived by two children, Michelle Levesque of St. Albans, and David W. Sweetser Jr. (Alexis Stearns) of St. Albans; three grandchildren, Katlyn Couture (Dan) of Ringold, LA, Matthew Levesque (Sidney LaBelle) of St. Albans, and Lauren Levesque and her friend Ryan Demore, of St. Albans; two great-grandchildren, Daniel Couture Jr., and Harley Couture; and two siblings, Mary Dennett of Claremont, NH and Steven Sweetser (Linda) of Berkshire, and many friends.
A Remembrance Gathering will be held Saturday, January 14th, 2023 at 11:30 am at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home. There will be a time of reflection held prior to the service from 10 until 11:30 am. Interment will follow in the spring.
