Robert (Bazou) Joseph Parent
SUN CITY, FL / ENOSBURG FALLS: Robert Joseph Parent, 95 years old, passed away at the LifePath Hospice House on March 23, 2023.
Robert was born on December 3, 1927, in Berlin, NH, the son of Joseph and Adelle (Bisson) Parent.
Bob took his first ever plane trip in November 2017. As the Vermont winter was setting in, he left Enosburgh and flew to Sun City Center, FL for “just a couple of months” to temporarily enjoy the warmth, sunshine, and Palm trees. Well, he enjoyed it so much that he decided to make it a permanent home much to the delight of his daughter, Linda Parent, also of Sun City Center.
Robert, fondly known as Bazou and/or Cowboy, loved a good joke, loved to have fun, and had many friends. He was very mechanical, and among other skills, he had been a heavy equipment operator on the Mt. Washington NH Auto Road back in the day.
Robert was willing to help anyone, at any time, and there was no job he couldn’t do. His friends at his Sun Towers apartment building would see him from afar everywhere around town, in either his golf cart or on his scooter, wearing his cowboy hat with its bright red ribbon. Robert is very missed by all who knew him.
Robert is survived by his only child, Linda Parent, and her boyfriend Brian Gray whom he affectionately called Junior; Linda’s son Christopher McAdam and his wife Jennifer, and their two children, Aurora and Jackson of West Hartford, CT, and Linda’s daughter Lauren McAdam of Asheville, NC.
Robert loved and was close to his niece, Therese Parent Etman of Windsor, VT; he is also survived by his brother Maurice of Gorham, NH; and many more nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at St. George Catholic Cemetery in Bakersfield, VT. We welcome all wishing to celebrate Robert’s life.
