Gail Alice DuPriest
RICHFORD: Gail Alice DuPriest a longtime area resident passed away early Monday, July 6, 2020, at the Northwestern Medical Center
Born on November 23, 1946, in Bay Shore, Long Island, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Dorothea (White) Bernatzky. Gail was 73 years old.
Gail grew up on Long Island, New York, where she graduated from Smithtown Central High School in 1964. She attended Adelphia University, where she learned keypunch that would later introduce her to her career with the SUNY system as a computer mainframe operator. She retired from SUNY Oneonta as a senior computer operator in 1997. She enjoyed traveling before settling down in Vermont in 2008. Gail was best known for her amazing knitting and crocheting abilities. Her infectious smile and genuine willingness to help all around her. She was a loving and supportive sister, mother, friend, and an amazing grandmother. She will be missed.
Survivors include her daughters, Tracy (David) Heerema, of Flower Mound, TX, and Sherri Hooks of Richford; grandchildren, Ash, Rowan, Corbin, Sequoia, Olivia and Sera; and siblings, Laurie Sturm and Warren Bernatzky.
Per Gail’s wishes, there will be no services.
