EAGLES HAND HORNETS FIRST LOSS
After rolling out to an early lead, things got messy for Enosburg in Bristol on Wednesday as the Hornet girls took their first loss of the season, 49-26, at the hands of Mt. Abraham.
After jumping out to an 8-2 lead, Enosburg (11-1) mustered just two points the rest of the first half, trailing 18-10 at halftime against a Mt. Abe (9-5) team it had beaten by eight a few days earlier. That deficit proved too much to overcome on a night coach Gary Geddes said was filled with unnecessary turnovers and easy Eagle baskets.
Maia Jensen’s 20 points for the Eagles led all scorers. For EFHS, Lilly Robtoy was near a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds, Emily Adams scored eight points, Allison Bowen finished with four and Kayla Gervais scored three points. Erica Goodhue tallied two points and eight rebounds for the Hornets, who will look to bounce back with an always-exciting game at North Country on Saturday.
