GEORGIA MAN CHARGED WITH DUI

 

Police have charged a Georgia man with DUI after he allegedly crashed his vehicle Friday night on Sodom Road.

Robert Mackenzie, 62, of Georgia was not with the vehicle when rescue crews arrived, but police say they did manage to connect him as the driver of the vehicle.Robert Mackenzie

A preliminary breath test showed that Mackenzie had a blood alcohol level of 0.143%. The legal limit for driving in Vermont is 0.08%.

The Sodom Road crash happened just after 11PM on Friday night, near the intersection of Bates Road, according to a press release.

Mackenzie’s Toyota Carolla was totalled in the crash, but Mackenzie did not sustain any major injuries, police said.

He’ll have to answer to the charge of DUI on November 21st in Franklin Superior Court. Mackenzie will not be charged with leaving the scene of an accident, according to Trooper Matthew Conte.
