ELLA SHAPIRO
Ella Shapiro, 95, died peacefully, Sunday, January 1. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She leaves behind her daughters Naomi Shapiro and her husband, Ronald Miller, of Shelburne, Hannah Shapiro and her husband, Joel Schlank, of West Hartford, Conn., and Judy Shapiro and her husband, Frank Naef, of Essex. She adored her grandchildren Ari Shapiro-Miller, Maya Burr, Erica Schlank, Colin Schlank, Ivy Naef Knipes and Jaren Naef. She talked incessantly about her grandchildren and was so proud of them.
Ella was known for her spunkiness, her cooking, her expert pie making, her love for animals and helping others. She was very loved and will be sorely missed. Donations may be made to Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd. Newington, Conn., 06111
