WANTED PERSON PICKED UP ON DUI#2 CHARGE

ST. ALBANS: Vermont State Trooper Nathaniel Quealy says he picked up Eric J. Smith, 32  of St. Albans, VT over the weekend for DUI, and then found out that he was a wanted person.

Smith was cited into court on February 27th for DUI #2, after refusing to be processed for alcohol after the stop.

The traffic stop happened around 2 am on Sunday morning on Lapierre Drive, according to the trooper.

Records show that Smith has a prior criminal record for DUI, resisting arrest, leaving the scene of an accident, violation of conditions of release, excessive speed, and petit larceny.

Smith is currently being held on lack of $5,000 bail at Northwestern Correctional Center for a petit larceny charge, according to state records.
