POLICE: EXPLOSIVES FOUND AT HARD’ACK, AGAIN

ST. ALBANS: Police say they worked with the FBI, and Vermont State Police over the weekend to dispose of explosives found at the Hard’ack Recreation Area.

The County Courier first reported in March that St. Albans Police responded to the Recreation Area for the report of home-made explosives. Now, police say they responded back to the same area on Saturday.

A caller reported finding a small plastic container with a clear plastic lid containing a suspicious substance inside. That substance, according to St. Albans Police Chief Gary Taylor, ended up being explosive materials.

Much like the discovery in March, police contacted the Vermont State Police, which responded with the Bomb Squad Unit to safely dispose of the explosives.

During the incident reported to police on March 13th, a caller had reported finding bullets and other suspicious materials in a Hibachi style grill, dumped in the woods.

Evidence has been gathered and is being assessed, but Police are asking for the public’s assistance. If you have any information, you are asked to call (802) 524-2166.
