Walter Wayne Mercier
The family of Walter Wayne Mercier, age 86, announces that he passed away peacefully on June 29, 2022, in Saint Albans, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Burlington, July 15, 1935 to Dewey and Elberta May (Bushey) Mercier.
Walter worked for 25 years at General Electric retiring in 1990. He also worked for Lavalle and Roy, and Vermont Furniture. He was a machinist for most of his career. Walter will be remembered fondly for his love of his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. He also enjoyed playing bingo with his family, hunting and fishing, and watching NASCAR.
Walter is survived by four daughters, Peggy Laplante (John) of North Hero, Sherry Brier (Mark LaFlam) of Swanton, Cindy Shambo (Robert) of St. Albans, and Sandy Letourneau (Allen) of Swanton; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and three siblings, Audrey, Donald, and Frank.
A Remembrance Gathering and Funeral of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, July 6th, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home. A Time of Reflection will be held from 1:00 PM, until the time of the funeral. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
