VTRANS CLOSES SOUTHBOUND I-89 RAMP IN GEORGIA

VTRANS has announced that it was forced to close the I-89 southbound off-ramp in Georgia, on Monday, in order to do what they call emergency repairs.

The Agency has not said how long they anticipate the closure to be in effect, but are asking motorists to plan ahead.

The County Courier will update this story with more information if and when it becomes available.

Although the off-ramp was closed, the remainder of the Interstate was still open for traffic at the time of this new story.

No cause had been announced, but a brook does run under that part of the I-89 and Route 7 interchange, indicating that the recent weather is likely a factor.

VTRANS announced the closure on Facebook this morning.
