Joan Anne Burrows
Joan Anne (nee Gennett) Burrows, 88 a resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania formerly of Milwaukee, Wisconsin passed away on November 26, 2020.
Joan was born July 31, 1932 in Greenwich, Connecticut to the late Edward and Edna (nee James) Gennett. She was a graduate of Barry College, Class of 1954, in Miami Shores where she studied Spanish. Joan was an Associate of the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi in Wisconsin. She loved to travel and spend time with her family.
Joan’s fondest childhood memories were spending her summer vacations on Rugg Street in St. Albans, Vermont with her Aunt Ruth (Stephen) Collins, who was like a Mother to her, also her grandparents (Edward and Mary (nee Ladabouche) Gennett, and cousin Leon (Marie) Gennett.
Joan lived her last years at the Little Sisters of the Poor in Philadelphia. She is dearly missed by all her family and friends.
Joan is survived by her children, Patricia (David) O’Connor, Edward (Pamela Bender) Burrows, Teresa (Richard) O’Connor, Mary (Patrick Anderson) Hess, and James (Rowena) Burrows;
she is the Grandmother of 14 and Great-Grandmother of 12.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St Mary’s Catholic Church St Albans, Vermont, on June 18, 2021, at 10 am. Internment immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery.
