Barbara Greenwood

ENOSBURG FALLS: Barbara Greenwood, age 93, passed away on Monday, March 12th, 2024 at the Franklin County Rehab Center.

Barbara was born in Bakersfield on April 25, 1930, the daughter of Floyd and Harriet (Joubert) Ashton.

Barbara married Lawrence Greenwood on May 1st, 1948. Barbara was a homemaker and raised three boys and three girls during her lifetime. She enjoyed staying home and caring for the kids. Barbara enjoyed time with friends, dancing at the Legion, and watching Western shows.

Barbara is survived by her children, Rockland Greenwood and his wife Lorraine, Carolyn Nichols and her husband Leonard, Cheryl Honey and her husband Norman, Shayne Greenwood and his wife Linda, Darlene Chaffee and her husband Cort; grandchildren, Dan Greenwood, Lori Greenwood, Naomi Ingalls and her husband, Keith, Tacona Chaffee and partner Ray, Benjamin Nichols, Christopher Nichols and his wife Jessica, Jody Honey, Jimmy Honey and his wife Stacy, Jennifer Goff and her husband, Ron, and Travis Greenwood and his partner Samantha Fournier; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Tiffany, Megan, Izich, Bryce, Shaylan, Tory, Austin, Khloe, Quinn, Maya, Lukas, Blayke, Logan, and Isaac. She is also survived by her brother, Floyd Ashton and his wife Jeanette; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Barbara is predeceased by her parents; her husband Lawrence Greenwood, sons, Coledon Greenwood and Trelan Greenwood; granddaughter, Susan Nichols; and her siblings, Lillia Bennett, Freeman Ashton and Keith Ashton.

A special thank you to Kerry, Barbara’s nephew, she lived in Kerry’s house, and he and his wife Lesa provided care for Barbara. Prior to Lesa caring for Barbara, her niece, Penny did.

The family would also like to thank Franklin County Rehab Center for the excellent care they gave Barbara.

Family and friends will be invited to a Graveside celebration for Barbara on Saturday, April 27th at 1 pm at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Bakersfield.
